About the Coalition of Central Indiana Tea parties

The Coalition of Central Indiana Tea Parties exists to Educate, Empower, Energize and Engage fellow Hoosiers and Americans to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and Bill of Rights. This includes concepts of a limited, smaller, more efficient government along with state and local issues of common concern.  Balanced budgets and lower taxes are also major goals.

The mission of the Coalition is:

To restore limited government, fiscal responsibility, and accountable representation through citizen activism and education, in order to preserve the blessings of liberty and uphold the Constitutions of Indiana and of the United States of America
.

Formation of the Modern Day Tea Party.

For years many Americans have felt the Unites States government was becoming increasingly dysfunctional, not following the design of government outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights and attacking the freedom intended for all Americans

This feeling was based on the government increasingly not following, ignoring or violating the Supreme Law of the Land -our US Constitution.

The 2008 election resulted in many elected to office immediately instituting new assaults on the US Constitution, openly declaring “there needs to be a fundamental transformation of the United States of America (US Constitution).”  Those elected representatives believe Americans need to trade the individual freedoms and protections built into the Bill of Rights that limits government to a new one that empowers government and limits the freedom of the individual.

At the same time actions were taken that began imperiling our financial security with out-of- control spending, increased taxes, massive new deficits, no balanced budget and no concern to have one. Fiscal irresponsibility reins resulting in the largest national budget deficit the world has ever seen. Today, massive regulations, crony capitalism and other poor economic decisions have led America to become the second largest economy in the world, now following China, for the first time since Ulysses S. Grant was president in the 1870’s.

In response to these and other tyrannies, freedom and patriot groups began forming all over Indiana and the United States in an attempt to restore and preserve Constitutional governance.

Many of these groups chose “tea party” as part of their names.  This originates from the first tax-protest in Colonial America when patriots threw chests of tea into the Boston Harbor to protest British taxation.   The acronym “TEA” also meant “taxed enough already.”

These groups continue their efforts to restrain government with a goal of restoring freedoms lost and returning America to the heritage envisioned by her founders.
